Jason Blum has been speaking to Collider about Paranormal Activity 5 and his thoughts about the franchise. He starts by telling Colliedr that Paranormal Activity is scheduled to begin production mid spring and is slated for a October release – apparently this is the usual schedule for the franchise.
Blum also goes on to say that he expects and hopes to see Paranormal Activity to go on past its 5th movie as long as the movies were good and original.
Collider: Do you know when Paranormal Activity 5 will go into production?
Well, it’s coming out in October, so not too far from now. Usually, it’s sometime in middle to late Spring that we start. We don’t have a date yet, but that’s when we begin. That’s when we’ve begun all of the rest of them. — Jason Blum
Collider: Do you see that as a franchise that could just go on indefinitely?
I hope so! But, I don’t know. As long as they can keep making it fun and new. — Jason Blum
Every Halloween we have a few true horror movies in the cinema that we truly look forward to and for the last few years many horror movie fans have looked forward to the next instalments of the Paranormal Activity franchise, 2013 is no different with the announcement of Paranormal Activity 5.
Unfortunately there has been very little information about Paranormal Activity 5 released, it even looks like some of the producers don’t know exactly what is going on with Oren Peli saying:
”Even if I knew exactly, I wouldn’t want to tell you because we like to keep everything under wraps when it comes to our future development”
This for me, a hard code horror fan (and a little bit of a Paranormal Activity geek), is a little worrying as if Peli doesn’t know what’s going on then maybe he has no input or has even lost interest?! No matter what Paranormal Activity 5 will be in cinemas on 24th October 2013 just in time for our annually Halloween-Horror movie week.
